Dundee LibDems say SNP government's "efficiency" plans in meltdown and will lead to job cuts

Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Wednesday 16th April) condemned the SNP government's 'ill thought out' efficiency plans, saying they will lead to serious public sector job cuts.

Liberal Democrat Shadow Finance and Sustainable Growth Secretary, Tavish Scott MSP, said, "The SNP plans show that more than £2 billion of efficiency savings are unplanned.

"The Government has made big boasts about savings, but has failed to back these up with hard details. This is not an efficiency plan. It's an 'over to you and nothing to do with me' plan."

Here in Dundee, Liberal Democrat Council Group Leader, Cllr Fraser Macpherson, added, "Significant cuts in staffing across the public sector will follow from these disastrously ill-thought out SNP plans. £1.6bn in efficiency savings over the next three years are not achieved without significant cuts in public services and jobs."
