Dundee LibDems say future looks bright for Dundee airport

Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Wednesday 14th February) said the future looked bright for Dundee Airport, following the announcement of its transfer to Highlands & Islands Airport Limited (HIAL), from 1st September 2007.
City Council LibDem Finance Convener, Cllr Fraser Macpherson, said that the outcome made it more likely that additional scheduled flights might be possible in the future. Additionally, it removed a significant financial burden from the City Council, with a positive effect on future council tax levels.
"HIAL has great experience and expertise and I have no doubt that the airport transfer will be of benefit to the long term development of the airport," commented Cllr Macpherson.
