North East Liberal Democrat MSP Alison McInnes has condemned the SNP's system for funding schools and hospitals for causing confusion in Dundee and Angus.

Mrs McInnes is writing to Dundee and Angus Councils to ask what impact the hiatus over vital funding for public services is having on health and education services, and on transport infrastructure.

The Liberal Democrat's Finance Spokesperson will then take this up with the Finance Secretary in the Scottish Parliament.

The Liberal Democrats' scepticism about the Scottish Futures Trust is shared by many business representatives who have condemned the SNP's flagship funding mechanism.

Commenting, Mrs McInnes said, "The SNP's flawed funding mechanism has created utter confusion for local authorities.

"I know that the school building programme in many local authorities has stalled because of a lack of information from central government about how it will be funded.

"I am writing to the councils to ask what the impact of this hiatus in funding has been on health and education services, and on transport infrastructure.

"Liberal Democrats will not allow the Scottish Government to get away with jeopardising vital public services."
