Dundee Liberal Democrat local party Convener Raymond Lawrie today (Thursday 2nd March) added his congratulations to Sir Menzies Campbell, the newly elected federal leader of the Liberal Democrats, describing him as "a proven high-achiever."
Raymond said, "The leadership election campaign has been a hugely positive process for the Liberal Democrats, where the policies and the direction of our party have been constructively debated.
"I congratulate Ming on his election and have no doubt he will lead the Liberal Democrats to new heights in the years ahead. He has a unique blend of experience, intellect and authority which can only benefit the party and politics as a whole.
"Our party has the greatest support of the third party in Britain in over 80 years and the party is in excellent shape. The Dunfermline & West Fife by-election victory last month shows the major force the Scottish Liberal Democrats have become. This is a great time to be a Liberal Democrat and under Ming's leadership, the party will go from strength to strength."
